Got a Checkmate monitor? This works well.

If you don't have a Checkmate monitor, it also works well. But my use was more niche, installing it inside a monitor 'pod' with pre-defined cutouts and fitting measurements - millimeter variance could present issues. However, I replaced my analog IO board with the IO Direct and everything fit perfectly once I installed in the middle pod (I'd recommend that if you have any USB hub, DE10-nano and IO board). The support was fantastic as well - before ordering I had multiple questions and I got quick answers. There was no tone, no shortcuts - just really friendly and helpful. Very appreciated.

Easy to setup and works flawlessly

The IO Direct was easy to install with a very helpful guide and pictures. The MT-32 Pi hat works great through the User Port. No issues and very happy with it.

The best IO board out there

The build quality is really high, it connects as easily as LEGO bricks and it works flawlessly on my BVM.

Reasons why it's great:
- 24-bit video.
- Works with official cores.
- Saturn AV output (one cable to rule them all).
- Option to install custom fan and choose speed (Noctua for life, can't hear it at 3.3V).
- Option to use either onboard audio DAC or output digital audio to your sound system (what more would you want?).
- Leaves both RAM slots open with a small tradeoff of replugging the HDMI bridge each time you wish to change displays (small price to pay).
- USB-C power delivery (no more power bricks!).
- A dedicated power button and the 3 buttons are really nice to press.
- Fair price for what you're getting.

Reasons why it's not great:
- Doesn't have USB ports to make the bottom USB hub slice redundant.

Final score: 9/10

If you're looking for the ultimate analog IO board, this is it. I was living a good life without it and using an HDMI-VGA dongle. But if you want the best video quality and simple options to connect audio, you need this.
