Thermal Characteristics

This thermal image demonstrates the aluminum case's ability to dissipate heat. The yellow areas are the hottest and black is the coolest.

These measurements were performed in 2020, just before the case was released. Since that time, thousands have been sold and used all around the world. Rest assured the case provides both adequate cooling and protection. The FPGA used by the DE10-nano has a max temp rating (TJmax) of 100C. It's an industrial-class device and this aluminum armor is the best enclosure for it.

It's normal for case temperatures to reach 40-50C. That's 1/2 the rated temperature of the FPGA :)

These charts show measurements of a small heatsink with no fan (No Case (Heatsink), a traditional case with fan and heatsink, and the aluminum case measured on the top and on the heatsink arm itself.

Very pleased with the case

I watched the installation video on the website a couple of times and had absolutely zero problems. The case fit was precise and once I’turned it on, the case warmed evenly. Definitely made me a fan of the concept of the case as a giant heatsink.

Great case, makes it look more professional

I had ran my mister naked for a while. Accidentally statically socked it and damaged it, decided it was time to get a case for the next one. It really ties the machine together. Also, I didn't notice the old fan much before, but its nice that its totally silent now, the case does a great job as a heat sync you can feel it warm on all sides. It wasn't that hard to put together either, the video is a little out dated and (it even mentions it in the description) you don't need to fuss with the tiny washers anymore, and mine came with the light beams installed already. It's definitely worth the extra bucks to just get one with the case, don't try and save a few bucks like I did the first time =)

Stunning case for the DE-10!

One of, if not the best case for the mister. Ultra quiet,(of course being passive), and the color really pops. Love the case and look forward to getting more. Highly recommended!

it could not be cooler (this is not a thermal dynamics joke)

just LOOK at the thing

pro tip: team up with a buddy (or buy two sets) so you can set yourself up with contrasting button colors. :CHEFS KISS:
