SNAC (Serial Native Accessory Converter) lets you use original console controllers with your MiSTer FPGA for zero-lag, hardware-accurate input. Choose the version that matches your needs:
Which Version Do I Need?
- SNAC V1 ($15) - Budget option for single-player gaming. Supports NES, SNES, Genesis, and more.
- SNAC PC Engine ($30) - Custom-built for PC Engine/TurboGrafx with faster level shifters for full turbo button functionality.
- SNAX V2.1 ($35) - Adds 2-player support for NES, SNES, and PlayStation. Best value for multiplayer.
- SNAX64 V3.1 ($50) - Full 4-player N64 support plus all SNAX features. Essential for N64 multiplayer.

About SNAC PC Engine
The PC Engine requires faster level shifters than standard SNAC/SNAX for turbo functionality. While other versions work for basic controls, SNAC PC Engine supports all original controller hardware including turbo buttons. Original design by PC Engine enthusiast David Shadoff.
Light Gun Support
All versions support light guns including NES Zapper, SNES Super Scope, and Sega Saturn Stunner (units shipped after October 2024).
Installation
- Connect SNAC board to MiSTer's USER I/O port
- Attach controller adapter cable for your system
- Enable SNAC in the core's OSD menu
